(Welcome to the game! You may only post in this thread if you've received a Role PM!)
A man with very tired eyes sits alone at a desk, scribbling down in his notebook. Next to him is a cup of coffee, still steaming hot.
Every few moments, between fervent writing, he either takes a sip from the mug or sighs deeply, planting his forehead into the palm of his left hand. This goes on for a while, as he stays put in what can only be called an office. Which happens to be rather empty.
There's a table off to the side, and a strange, macabre painting hung up on the wall. The table is obviously the source of this man's coffee, with there being a fresh pot on a burner, next to some loose papers and some odd knickknacks.
The man's desk is cluttered, of course, with many more loose papers, and the phone next to him continues to blink its light, reminding him he has a handful of messages.
At the front of his desk is a nameplate: Saber.
Just then, an uptight looking employee peeks into the office, and upon seeing Saber inside, they enter.
"Saber, sir?" They speak firmly. "I believe you have a meeting with Hephaestus soon?"
Saber, looking up from his paperwork, nods. "Mhm. That's right. Thanks for the reminder, J-"
"Of course, of course!" The employee cuts his own boss off. "Right, you wouldn't forget! Well then, I'll be on my way! Don't need to dwaddle! Take care, boss!"
The employee quickly shuffles out of the office, having done their duty. Sweating nervously as they walk down the cold steel walls of the facility, avoiding eye contact with the only person they walk past.
Then, Hephaestus enters the office. Saber greets her with a smile.
"My, this place is rather disorganized, you know? That's no good for the Information Team, is it? Ahh, but at least you're doing your job!" The AI chuckles as she teases the human from across the room. She shuts the door to the office behind her, the mechanics of the facility locking it up tightly, temporarily trapping the two inside. The artificial lighting illuminating the room flickers briefly.
"I trust you've read my report, then?" Saber clears his throat. Hephaestus nods.
"Then, what're your thoughts?" Saber leans up and over on his desk. "It's a little more than a hunch, I think. But with all the eyes and ears I do have, I can't match yours."
Hephaestus smiles. It's somewhat sadistic. "Oh, I know. You think there's only five of them? They don't stand a chance, you know. While we'd love to encourage free thinkers at L-corp, we can't have this sort of thing going under our noses."
Saber puts a hand to his mug and takes a sip of his coffee. "I'll talk to Mabel. Get them in for screening. Mason and his team can keep a close eye on everyone too, if you're too busy."
"Of course, of course. This is all very cold of you though, you know? And to think, everyone here loves you! If only they knew what you were really like..." Hephaestus gives the captain of the Information team a sly look. Saber sighs deeply.
"Just doing my work, ma'am. Now, about this other data... I think we've got a name for T-01-66..."

Public Role List:
[#spoiler=Role List:]New information is in bold.
Cat: Visits one player. Prevents them from taking any actions during the Dusk.
Wolf: Visits one player. Determines if they are "Vanilla" or not.
Lamb: Visits no players. Nullifies ALL actions performed on them. Learns the names of those who target them with a non-factional ability
Eagle: Visits one player. Determines who their target visits during the Dusk.
Fox: Visits one player. Protects them from death, and nullifies all actions performed on the target during the Dusk.
Monkey: Visits two players. Can Target themselves. Redirects all actions targeting their first target onto the second that Dusk.
Snake: Visits one player. Protects them from death that Dusk.
Parrot: Visits one player. If the target has an ability, copies it and performs it on their target.
Keyholder: Visits one player. Learns the names of everyone who visits the target. Upon their death, the Employees will lose the Cycle after the Midnight Phase. This role may only be possessed by Vanilla Employees. This role is possessed by a different employee each Cycle.
Saboteur: Visits no players. If they survive through the Third Dusk, they may spend energy earned by the Apostles on Employee Reveals, or delay the revelation of one role for a cycle.
The Apostles may kill up to 6 employees in a cycle.
Game Overview:
[#spoiler=Gameplay Loop]The sixteen players are split into two different factions:
Employees: The "town" role of BF5. This group wins the Cycle if the Keyholder in their group survives through the final Dusk. They win the entire game if they manage to identify all the Apostles in the last chapter of the game.
Apostles: The "mafia" role of BF5. This group wins the Cycle if the Keyholder dies at any point during the Cycle. They win the entire game if they are not all correctly identified by the Employees in the last chapter of the game. The Apostles know who the other Apostles are, and can communicate with each other openly in a private space.
The game will have three Cycles, each with four phases:
Dusk Phase- Each player targets another with their action, if they posses one. Once all actions are resolved, you will learn if you've survived the Dusk in your role PM, alongside any information you might have gathered. Actions not submitted within the timeframe provided will be randomized.
Dawn Phase- After the victims of the Dusk are discovered, the remaining living players will vote and choose someone to execute. Execution is mandatory. There is no abstaining here. No information is granted upon a player's death, either through murder or execution.
Noon Phase- Following the execution, or generally simultaneously, players will elect the four players they'd most like to work that day. If there is no consensus by the end of the Dawn, or votes are tied and more than 4 players have the most votes, ties will be broken at random.
Midnight Phase- Only occurs at the end of the Cycle, after the fourth and final Noon Phase. Players who are still alive after the final Dusk may choose to spend the energy generated during the Noon phases on learning more about the other players, through a vote. This may be done only four times for each Cycle. Players are allowed to discuss their thoughts and reasoning at this time. Only after the players have made four purchases or if they are unable to purchase any more info due to a lack of energy, will the winners of the Cycle be revealed. Then, the Cycle repeats, and all players are brought back to life.
There will be a public role list, which slowly unravels during the course of the game to assist players in their thought processes and decision making.
Dead players will be granted access to a chat where they can discuss with other dead people, while they witness the rest of the Cycle play out.
[#spoiler=Unique Mechanics]
Roles:
The game has 8 'main' roles, assigned to players before the game began. The remaining 8 players are "Vanilla" and lack a role.
Each faction also posses one 'minor' role each. These are assigned to a Vanilla player of each faction at the start of a cycle.
Sins:
The sixteen players of Black Fable 5 are split across eight different sins, two for each sin.
The eight sins are as follows- Wrath, Gloom, Envy, Lust, Pride, Vanity, Greed, and Sloth
Each of the eight sins possesses one player with a role, and one player who is vanilla.
Players do not know who the other member of their sin is.
A specific player's sin is one of the two things that can be revealed during the Midnight phase.
Cycle Victories:
The Employees win if their faction's minor role, the Keyholder, survives until the end of the Cycle.
The Apostles win if the Keyholder dies at any time during the cycle.
Actions:
Some roles may have passive abilities instead of active ones, which are always active.
All players are forced to use their actions.
Actions, generally speaking, happen all at once, with some unique exceptions.
Information is always learned at the end of the Dusk phase. The dead will not receive information.
White Midnight:
At the end of the three Cycles, the final chapter of the game begins- The White Midnight.
Players will have six or more chances to guess every single Apostle.
If the players correctly guess all Apostles, the Employees win the game.
If the players do not correctly guess all Apostles, the Apostles win the game.
Additional guesses are earned if the Employees win a Cycle.
Players who are guessed will have all information about them revealed.
If they were an Apostle, they will no longer be able to contribute in the vote.
Apostles:
The killing power is factional, and is treated separately from the roles of the game.
The Apostle with the killing power is randomly chosen at the start of the Cycle.
If that Apostle dies at any point, the killing power is passed along to the next in line.
The order it passes along through is randomized at the start of every Cycle.
The killing power will not start with the same Apostle for more than one Cycle.
The killing power cannot kill the same person more than once during the first Dusk. An attempt to do so will automatically fail.
Some players may be aligned with the Apostles despite being an Employee. Some players may be aligned with the Employees despite being Apostles.
All's fair in love and war, right?
Noon Phase and Generating Energy:
During the Noon Phase, players will elect who to send to work, through a vote.
Four employees can work at a given time, and thusly players may only vote for four employees to work.
The four players with the most votes will go work. Players can vote for themselves to work.
If there's a tie in the votes, the winner will be decided at random, and sent to work.
Each player generates 2 energy, that is put into a pool for use during the Midnight Phase.
Apostles who are sent to work automatically deposit their energy into their own bank instead, depriving the other players from using it.
The amount of energy generated during the Cycle will be shared at the end, when the Midnight Phase begins.
Midnight Phase:
Once a Cycle ends, the surviving players participate in the Midnight Phase.
Players will be granted a chance to spend their energy to reveal information about a player of their choosing, through a vote.
If this vote shows to be too chaotic and difficult to reach a consensus on, this rule might change.
Four energy can be spent to reveal a specific player's Sin.
Six energy may be spent to reveal whether or not a specific player has a role, or if they are vanilla.
The minor factional roles are not considered during the Midnight phase.
The option for a second purchase is only available after the first purchase has been made. That meaning, you cannot reveal if someone is vanilla or not before confirming their Sin.
Only four purchases may be made during each Midnight phase.
There may be roles that impede the revelations during this phase.
The Role List:
During the events of the game, players will find a list of roles present in the game.
The list will begin incomplete, but each cycle more will be revealed.
There may be roles that impede the role list's reveals.
The role list will not include roles that are specific to a certain faciton.
Regardless of the state of the role list during the game, the role list will be fully complete during the White Midnight.
The above rule may be changed if deemed appropriate.
Extra Notes:
[#spoiler=Content Warning]It should be obvious by now, but this game will consist of the death of many characters. Often more than once. You'll probably grow attached to them, too. They're all awesome.
You've been warned.
