Hello y'all! Welcome to the tenth Danganronpa F Sign-Up thread! The basic idea behind this game is to solve whodunnits while RPing as characters of your own design! This game will not spoil Danganronpa or reference any previous F games in any serious manner so if you're unfamiliar with either, no worries. If you're interested in doing some in-character whodunnits, read the following to see if the game is right for you! Here:
[#spoiler=Premise]Across the last three years, the greatest seasons of reality television ever produced have hit the global scene:
Sacrifice Island - A reality show where shipwrecked castaways had to forge bitter bonds and vote one another out
Twin Serpent Casino - A reality show where a bunch of players were locked in a puzzling casino and had to find increasingly clever ways to cheat the system
The Fall of Fashion - A fashion marathon reality survival show where designers were trapped in an underground city and forced to please a strange idol with their designs
Rumors abound on what Ultimate Reality Producer Garry Gallaway is thinking for his next big production: Cooking? Talent show? Singing? Video games? Athletics? Or perhaps he would surprise everyone again with a brand new direction for his next production.
Nobody can escape the appeal of Gallaway's Productions. The players from Sacrifice Island, even those who got last place are now famous or successful in their line of work. In daily conversations, people talk about the antics that the players got up to on Sacrifice Island. All of them could have their own talk shows, but many of them settle for the plentiful money to be reaped from brand deals. Of course, the winner of the show, who won almost 5 million dollars is so famous now for his exceptional cleverness. Branded the Ultimate Social Engineer, he will forever be in the cultural zeitgeist.
That's not to mention how the players of Twin Serpent Casino are considered true geniuses and are sought after for their clever problem-solving skills. The Ultimate Game Strategist, as the winner is called, went from being a virtual nobody to the most respected business consultant in the entire world. The Ultimate Fashion God who won The Fall of Fashion is similarly set for life on name recognition alone. But everyone who got on either show is loaded with cash due to the respect and love for what they've done on and off the show.
So, as rumors abound for the next big reality show, those who wish to be a part of the show are getting rabid. They hope they can make it on and make their dreams come true.
There have been adds out there for casting calls or sending in videos. They're probably receiving thousands of submissions.
[#spoiler=Game Format]The game consists of 4ish chapters in total. Each chapter is split between DL and Trial segments.
During the DL (Daily Life), your characters will freely interact with each other in the current setting. You will have access to Free Time Events as well: private one-on-one conversations with other players. There's no particular limitations on what you do in this phase, within reason.
A trial segment will begin with the murder of one (or more) of the player characters. After which, your characters will receive their alibis and investigation results. Then, the characters will all disclose their clues and the group will try to find who the true murderer is. The murderer may lie, and those that think they may be the murderer may lie. The trial will end with a vote, and if the murderer is found, they lose, but if they aren't found, they win.
Victims and killers will be planned far out in advance. I will reach out to players early to discuss the roles of their characters ahead of time so that they can prepare. I will do my best to respect the wishes of the players when deciding roles.
The trials will be generally favor the killer being found by the innocents and the players will be pushed toward the truth. However, I will allow trials to end in failure if you aren't careful. If you vote for the wrong culprit then that's that. Fortunately, even if this happens, a second chance will be given to get the culprit right, everything behind the case will be explained, and the players won't be heavily punished. The story will go on, undisrupted. I want to encourage a game where the killers really try to get away with their crimes!
Additionally, will also be a points system in this game that exists in-universe. Players who post a good post here and there (whether helping other players get involved, doing something really funny, helping solve the trial, or bringing some good drama) will get some recognition for their efforts. These points will allow you to make things in game.
Players can have Free Time Events (which are like a private conversation between two characters). In general one FTE can be started by each player per chapter. Players can use points to get more.
[#spoiler=Q&A]Q: When do signups end?
A: One week from today (August 28th).
Q: When does the game start?
A: About one week after the signup period is over.
Q: How long will the game last?
A: I'm aiming for around 50 days (12 days per chapter).
Q: When/where is this game set?
A: The setting is heavily influenced by the aesthetics of the 2000s. Cell phones are around.
Q: LGBT+?
A: Yes please!
Q: Can my character bring stuff?
A: Your character will be able to bring a suitcase into the house. Anything that can connect to the outside world will be confiscated.
Q: Can my character know other character(s) beforehand?
A: Yes, absolutely. Discuss it with them beforehand to align yourselves together. It's completely possible that two people who know each other would be cast together.
Q: Can my character be (x)?
A: Most likely yes but I may need to prevent certain things. Make sure your character doesn't break the rules by: messing with the mystery scenarios too much, making other players uncomfortable, or derailing everyone else's character arcs.
Q: How many players are you looking for?
A: Anything from 15 to 18 would be good. I planned stuff with 17 players.
[#spoiler=RP Etiquette]1. Be active. The expectation for activity is about one post per day. Even with just that much the game can be fun and interesting! And even if you miss a few days please just do your best! Let me know as soon as possible about gaps in your availability.
1. Respect other players. Do not do anything that makes other players feel unsafe / uncomfortable / dejected. This includes going on about how you hate some characters in the OOC discord chat, or having your character harass another character after that player or I set a boundary with you. In general, try to uplift other players. In an RP, your goal is to make other players have fun.
2. Keep it Safe For Work. Some NSFW-ish stuff is okay but please be tastefully oblique and especially respect any boundaries set by other players on this.
3. No godmodding. In general, don't say what the characters of the players do in your post. Sometimes to make things flow better, you might say things like "And then many people went to the movie theater" in order to move a scene along, but if you do this, try to get some agreement from other players first that that's what they seemingly want to do.
4. Be a team player. Not everything will go exactly to your vision of what you want to get out of the game. Please be flexible with the role you want your character to play and support the overall narrative that everyone is a part of.
5. Communicate with the GM. If you have an issue with where your character is headed or with the pacing of the story, please let the GM know. I will do my best to check in with everyone and throw out questions to people fairly frequently since this is ultimately my responsibility, but if you want the most out of this experience please tell me what you want!
If you read this, say that you did!
So, does that all sound good? Then, if you are interested, please fill out this sign up form! - FX SIGN UPPER.
To summerize what's in the form, everyone will play one character for the duration of the game. This character will be someone who is participating in the new show.
Thanks, and happy gaming!!!
