Can the FTE between Korrigan and Hawk be made permanent? May as well queue it up for when FTE is a thing again.

Sure thing! I'll do it now, chapter 4 starts soon anyway.

Chapter 4 activity:
At some point, Faye approached you to discuss something. "I want to try the cave again. I've got a plan. If we can get rid of that plant, we'll be free to explore. We should at least try, right?"
"Hmm... I agree that it's worth trying," you replied. "Shouldn't we bring others into this, though? The more people we have, the better our chances of success."
"I don't think that's a good idea. Chances are, this won't go anywhere. I don't think anyone needs yet another disappointment. That's why I've been doing most of the exploration by myself until now."
You thought about this for a while. You recalled how she'd gone to search the boat in an earlier loop, in case there was anything to find there. It's unlikely this would turn out any better, but it felt wrong to snub her if this is what was keeping her motivated. You nodded. "Alright. I see what you're saying. What's the plan? I won't agree to anything that puts you in danger!"
Faye smiled, though she was clearly weary. "Don't worry, it's a safe bet. We'll keep our distance from the plant. I throw a rock over it, then you cast Gwlad Hud to enlarge it."
You nodded again. You'd learned to be extra animated while in this outfit, to make up for the covered face. "The rock will fall, and crush it! Yes, I can agree to that. Just get ready to run if anything goes wrong."
With that settled, you and Faye headed into the cave. She brought a dim torch from the blimp, so as not to alert the plant. Soon it reared into view, a horrible, monstrous thing, currently relatively dormant. This was the moment of truth. Faye nodded quietly to you, and you returned the gesture with a thumbs up. She hefted a rock and tossed it over the plant; you waited until just the right moment, then cast the enlarging spell. The rock became a boulder, which fell and crushed the giant venus fly trap. It barely had enough time to screech before it was thoroughly splattered and dead.
After this, you helped Faye to roll the boulder to one side of the room. Your eyes widened as you saw what was underneath the plant remains: a concealed trapdoor! "We... actually found something..." Faye said in quiet surprise, heading over to it.
"Colour me impressed! It definitely seems like that monster was guarding this place. Surely that means it's important?" you said, following after her. She flipped the trapdoor open, and you leaned over to peer inside. Through the opening was a water-filled corridor. "Huh, what's this? Is this somewhere in the ship?" you wondered aloud, craning your neck to get a better look. It appeared to be the corridor that led to the ship's exit: you were very familiar with it now, having gone through it so many times due to the time loop.
Just then, you felt an impact to the small of your back, and you went tumbling into the water. As you flailed and tried to gather your bearings, the trapdoor closed above you, cutting off the main source of light. You battered at it with all your might, but you couldn't muster much force while floating in the water like this. Had Faye done this? Did she lure you here just to kill you? You tried to keep calm. You knew where you were, and you knew where the exit was. You just had to hold your breath long enough to make it there. Unfortunately your suit wasn't well-suited for swimming in, and your helmet filling with water wasn't helping.
You only made it about halfway before your body forced your mouth open, eagerly gulping down a lungful of saltwater. Your insides burned, and your vision dimmed. As your consciousness faded, you found small solace in having at least taken the place of one of the students under your protection.
***
Faye waited until she was sure Korrigan was dead. Then she stepped off the trapdoor, opened it back up and dived through. She headed to the exit, and on the way encountered Korrigan's body floating lifelessly. She pulled it along with her, before continuing on to where the sloping corridor emerged above the water level. It took a few passes to bring him close enough, but soon he was in range for her to cast Pyped (Puppet) on his corpse. Then she exited the corridor, emerging out onto the island.
After heading to her room, where she could remain undisturbed, Faye asserted control over Korrigan's body. The corpse twitched to life, then dragged itself out of the water and through the exit door, emerging on the island.
Korrigan headed over to the casino. Faye knew that there'd usually be at least a few people hanging out there. Inside, Faye spoke through the dead body and told everyone her version of events: that the pair of them had discovered the corridor, swam through it together and then gone their separate ways. After informing enough people, Korrigan told everyone he wanted to nap, then shambled off to the prison. Faye piloted him into a bed in one of the cells, then relinquished her control.
The body lay there for a short while, looking for all the world like Korrigan was just asleep. Then, off in the distance, Faye feigned her death by the clock tower. After this she resumed her control over Korrigan's body. He was piloted towards the crime scene when the Alarm was sounded, and made to react appropriately. Until the end of the trial, he would be Faye's eyes and ears, and she would speak through him, trying to impersonate him. Hopefully no-one would notice anything was up. It would be a problem if Hawk demanded Korrigan take off his helmet again: he wasn't in a very presentable state at the moment...
***
You are dead! However, please don't leave just yet! Until a certain point in the trial, you will continue to play as 'Korrigan', who's really a dead body being puppeteered by Faye. She will do everything she can to avoid suspicion, so post accordingly. You're free to roleplay Korrigan's personality slightly wrongly, if you want, just so long as you don't make it too obvious.

So, I forgot to mention. As a corpse Korrigan can't cast spells, including summoning his familiar. However, he (really Faye) will claim that he dismissed his familiar before swimming through the tunnel, as obviously he couldn't bring an owl down there. Korrigian didn't feel much need to resummon afterwards. You might have to make up an excuse here, as it certainly is suspicious that he's choosing to leave his familiar unsummoned. However it's fine if people end up suspecting Korrigan of killing Faye, as then Faye would get away with the real murder.

Makes sense. I'll do my best to ward off suspicion from the truth. XD
On a related note, I think I'm realizing I'm getting a bit burnt out from mystery-solving RPs. BF4 was a simple game of Mafia/Werewolf with RP elements and all of the info could get crammed in an excel sheet. Very simple, when boiled down, but still a lot of fun. NG9 was on rails for most of it, and was moreso a puzzle game than a mystery game. I'm still boggled by how Nanjo pulled it off. And while I have to give you INCREDIBLE props for making this game, I'm wondering if perhaps the DRF series is a bit too high on the mystery-solving spectrum for me. I'm honored to be a part of this, and I'll still try to keep up and post *something* where I can, but it's very difficult for me to come up with something with so many people involved and trying to solve the mystery all at once. In a bizarre way, I'm somewhat glad I'm dead, but I'm glad I was a part of this game. =D
I just might be more hesitant next time to volunteer specifically for another DRF game, but I don't think that's of any particular fault of your own. Especially considering I didn't even play the DR games, I watched silent play-throughs of them. =P

Yup yup, totally fair, they're not for everyone. Granted, for a lot of people I think the main interest is the daily life and FTE stuff. Often I wonder if the trials are more just to provide structure to the game, rather than being the thing people are interested in.

Well, given my preferences and observations, I'd say that's a somewhat accurate claim. Most of the fun stuff happens when people aren't dying. XD

The best/worst part about normally not being really present for some of the trials is that when it's tactically best for me to be quiet, I can do so and not draw suspicion. 🙃

Alright, here's ghost-Korrigan's outro monologue, in a nutshell. I give you full creative liberty to tweak or add things: ------------------------------------------------- "From one hell to another hell, huh?" Korrigan remarks, looking around and at himself before turning to the remaining people.
"...You all are quite the group. It's difficult trying to come up with some blanket statement lesson on the spot like this. Um..." Korrigan adjusts his helmet. "Whatever all of you end up doing down there...know that you're still loved. And if more of you end up on my end of the tracks, that won't change. But if you DO end up killing, please try to make it less painful, alright? Drowning really hurt."
Korrigan seems to feel around where his lungs would be.
"...And if any of you end up living through this, don't harbor any survivor's guilt, alright? Live your life. Please. I beg of you. This isn't a case of fair and unfair. This is the never-ending jazz of life. Play for those who are forced to be silent. Go out there and strike a chord of your own design, because you're the only one who can. No matter what you play, it'll always be the right notes as long as you're the one playing them."
Korrigan seems to think for a moment.
"I think that's all I've got to say. Thank you all for performing and listening to the best of your ability. This is the Servant of Sound. Retiring to another dimension." Korrigan bows and is whisked away.
