Nico heads into the cafeteria about 10 minutes before the scheduled meet up time, and looks around to see if anyone else is there.

Yves, sitting alone on the far side of the cafeteria near the kitchen and nursing a mug, spots Nico after a few seconds and raises her hand from the table to awkwardly wave at the boy.

Felix was in the kitchen, hard at work preparing breakfast for everyone. He used whatever he could get his hands on -- eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles -- you name it, he was probably making it.

Mikoto, who had been awake far earlier than some of the others, emerged from a corner in the cafeteria with a small, new friend trotting behind them.The creature was small, much like the other familiars. Waddling along on its tiny, little stubby legs, it was constantly smiling up at its master and anyone else it could get its eyes on, its adorable little red cloak flowing behind it. If anyone was fortunate to have caught them earlier in the morning, they would've seen Mikoto and it doing a variety of unusual activities. From Mikoto arming them with a plastic knife and instructing it through practice swings, to the two of them twirling around in an elegant little dance around a cafeteria table, and the two of them kneeling on a small blanket Mikoto brought from their room and enjoying early morning tea. Now though, the two have packed up from their early morning routine of tea and exercise, and have joined the rest of the group. "Good morning, friends!" Mikoto waves and cheerfully greets those who are just entering (and everyone else, as they were completely oblivious to the presence of anyone else in the cafeteria before now.) "I trust you all managed to rest well, despite our circumstance? Adhering to your normal schedule is key to maintaining your stress levels. As such, I've been doing what I've always done. Though this time, with a new friend." ":]" Their little leafy familiar chimes in, waving its stubby arms around happily. "I just finished putting the set away, but would anyone like some tea?" |

"Good morning." Yves chimes back quietly, the bags under her eyes betraying that she definitely slept well and managed her stress levels. Totally.
She smiles, faintly, behind her mug as her eyes wander between the swordsmith and their little leaf buddy :]
"I, um, saw you were busy with your little friend, so I didn't say anything when I came in. I didn't wanna bother you..."

"Ooh, I'd like some tea! Good morning everyone!" Su-Ah, who got there at 8:00, requested.
"Is that your familiar? What a cute little creature. It's just like you! Hehehe." She sat down at the cafeteria table and began arranging the flowers in her head.

Mikoto begins unfurling their little blanket thing and takes out their REALLY cool electric kettle without a second word, and places several little tea bowls on the table (to serve tea into later.) "That is my familiar, yes! I find them positively charming. It seems like I've gotten lucky, compared to some like Mister Lopez."
They place another bowl in front of Yves (or where she was sitting) without even asking. "You were here the whole time?" They tilt their head, oblivious to the fact that they were not alone at all in the cafeteria.
Mikoto's lil fella jumps up on the seat and mysteriously pulls out their own, smaller tea bowl that's presumably their own. They look up to Su-Ah next to them.

Yves perks up, the tiniest bit, when Su-Ah enters, and gives the seamstress a wave that's somewhere between timid and excited as she sits down. "Good...good morning."
Then she turns and mutters a little "thank you", when Mikoto sets the tea bowl in front of her, eyeing the super rad kettle they pulled out of seemingly nowhere.
"I've been in here since your little friend was swinging around a little knife... it was really cute... That's when I got up to get my tea, and I've just been sitting here quietly since, pretty much."

"Hehe, what a happy looking little guy! Aw, your little cup looks like a bottle cap." Su-Ah pats them on the head a couple times. "Oh! Wait a second..."
She ruffles through her back and takes out a little red fabric flower. She manages to secure it on the familiar's head. "There!"

The leafy friend smiles, somehow even more intensely than before. It places its little cup on the table and attempts to give Su-Ah a hug. With those stubby arms, it doesn't go very well.
"Any disciple of mine must be trained appropriately." Mikoto nods affirmatively at Yves. "Of course, to begin with, one should always have a practice blade. When the time is right, I will forge my friend their own weapon."
"Hrm... But I should perhaps consider blessing them with their own name... 'Friend' won't always cut it, even if that is a title they will always hold in my heart."

There’s a comical crashing noise and then Yugi skitters into the room, giant silkworm in hand, “Don’t worry! I didn’t run or anything in the hallways!”
The ultimate mediator sees the clock and sees that it’s 8:05. She looks with wide-eyed dread.
“Eep! Please nobody tell the other teachers that I was late! Please! I was really tired I slept through four MAX VOLUME alarms! I swear I did my best!” She looks at Korrigan with tears in her eyes.
She looks like she needs some tea to wake up.

Mikoto silently begins to serve tea to anyone who wants it. They do it with incredible elegance and precision.
Their familiar is also served some tea.
“:]” it says.
“Please, my friends, we should all try to enjoy ourselves the best we can, despite our predicament.”
Mikoto takes a seat and starts sipping slowly from their cup. “It’s best while it’s hot.” They say.

Calvin enters the cafeteria, apparently a bit late. If anyone was paying attention, they'd notice that the cowboy was slipping something into a pocket on his frock coat. There also seems to be less facial hair on his face?
"Howdy, partner. I pray that ya'll got plenty of sleep last night. Was one hell of a night that turned out to be." The cowboy scratch at his chin. "I reckon I must've overslept."

Yugi jumps up, “Calvin, you were in my dream!”
“I dreamt that I was at my old school and you were there but we had to call the police because you had a gun!” She takes a moment to pause, “And then you said that by the old cowboy laws you can’t be arrested and you shot one of the policemen and then our whole class had to get on a bunch of horses you had!”

If this were a silly sitcom or something, Yves would be in the background of the shot while Yugi's talking, making a funny wide-eyed expression in the middle of drinking her tea and then continuing to react nonverbally as the story continually gets crazier.

Yugi is completely serious the whole time, “And then because we had to stop and feed horses I ended up missing my first day of post-calculus!” It sounds like she has these kinds of dreams all the time.

"Huh. From what yer are saying, it must've been a cracked dream." The cowboy reassured the peer mediator as he tips his hat. "There's no way that I could've been a bad egg. I've been a good chap in all my born days."

Ige walked into the cafeteria, his eyes dark and baggy. His annoying puppy familiar was yapping like crazy, circling Ige and gnawing at his leg.
"...Ahaha, so yesterday wasn't just some crazy, fucked up dream, was it?"
Ige took a seat next to no one in particular while the puppy familiar began to chew at his head.
"So...uh...do we have a plan yet? Or is it just exchange pleasantries and hope no one takes the first shot?"

It took quite a while, but Felix eventually came stumbling into the cafeteria somehow balancing three plates full of food, which he carefully set down at whatever empty table was nearby. He then ran back into the kitchen to grab a few more plates, then back again for empty plates for everyone to eat on, along with utensils.
Now that he had worked up a nice sweat, he panted a bit before taking in a deep breath. "Breakfast... breakfast is served...!" he wheezed.
It was a stunning display. All sorts of breakfast foods and condiments were neatly displayed and organized, each plate full of meat, pastries, and eggs. There was something for everyone to enjoy. Felix, for his part, simply collapsed in the nearest chair... before realizing he needed water, so he got up to go grab that before sitting back down again.
