“Well, I like your outfit! Wear what makes you happy! As long as it fits the dress code!” Yugi smiles groggily. “I don’t think I’ve heard of you but I guess I wouldn’t unless I was more into jazz than classIical, huh?” "My stage name was Servant of Sound. S.O.S. for short. I was mostly popular in those hole-in-the-wall jazz clubs, but I opted out of a deal to go broader. Even most jazz enjoyers wouldn't know of me." Korrigan explains, contently. "I share similar sentiments to Hawk. We need more information or strength before we can even consider taking them on. For now, we ought to get some rest. All of us. We'll reconvene here in the morning for breakfast. 7AM will work."

"Well, at least I'm not alone when it comes to having horrendous luck here", Kenji grunted, giving Ige a look of pity. "Sure, you guys can rest, but I can't. And apparently all Bruce here can do is rest, which only makes me more impatient. Wake up, you little vermin!" He shouted at the bat, which only briefly opened its eye for a second before closing it shut again. He gave a sigh, leaning back in his seat with a frustrated expression.

Korrigan turns to Kenji. You can't really see his face, but he just stares in Kenji's general direction for a few seconds before turning back to the group.
"...For the sake of easing worry, do we want to potentially seal up the Armory? Having a large assortment of weapons available to us is simply asking for trouble."

"Rather than that, wouldn't it be beneficial to let everyone be equipped for their own safety? True you could train the kids... and maybe me, but it'd be safer for them to have a tool at hand."
"Regardless, I'd rather we relax for a bit from this shock. Be it taste-testing familiars like our Hella, projecting their desires to rest on their familiars like Sir Lopez, or... playing Yugioh."

"Taking up arms is no laughing matter." Mikoto crosses their arms, as they shook their head.
"Learning how to draw and use a blade is not something that can be picked up in a day. It is a lifelong endeavor that only few manage to truly master. Even as this situation seems dire, it is only foolish to trick ourselves in being safe while we're armed."
"Though, I suppose I would be able to help tutor my fellow students... But I must admit, I've not yet mastered my family's technique. If we deem it fully necessary..." Mikoto lifts a sleeve covered hand to their chin, lost in thought.
"I'll warn you all, that learning is a harsh process! It will wear and tear at your body and mind, unless you're able to align yourself, you will find that you will shatter like glass under the pressure."
"Besides, we do not know what we are up against. And although I have no fear that any of us talented, wholesome individuals are not rotten eggs, plopping a knife in one's hand might be asking for disaster to strike."

"Temptation is best fought by removing the object of it, rather than testing one's emotional and moral endurance. We don't need to be making things more stressful for ourselves."

Mikoto nods in agreement. "Though it pains me to be an obstacle in our path to safety... I should confess that I've been withholding something. Though I suppose with metal-bending magic, my own blade would be of little value against the demons..."
"Ah, but there is no need to fear!" Mikoto tries to reassure anyone who might be worried. "I'll hide my blade in my room, under my bed, so any would-be killers will be unable to find it."

Korrigan stares at Mikoto. Once again, it's unsure of what his face looks like.
"...Y-...You just told everyone where it is."

Mikoto gasps, very VERY loudly, and exclaims "You know where it is!?"
They stare at Korrigan dead in the eyes. Or face. Mask? Whatever. "How did you know? You aren't plotting to kill someone, are you Mister Korrigan?"

"Um...As long as it isn't under your bed, or in front of my face, I will not know where it is." Korrigan explains. "Ideally no-one will know, for that matter."

"I suppose that is true. In the first place, I'd also rather have no altercations occur. However, I would still like to push for at least those who are trained to keep their weapons, be it the Cowboy or you, the Bladesmith. At the very least, we can trust them not to lose their weapons to those who knows not how to wield such tools, and they will likely not use their precious weapons to commit murder. "
A pained face appeared on Neuron's face, one softer than before. He attempts to gently put his hand on the bladesmith's shoulder.
"I have my trust in your Ultimate titles for that." He said softly.
"I believe that's why Sir Hawk gave back the revolver. He trusted Calvin's strength."

"The gun doesn't matter at all. It's too recognizable." Faye spoke up. "We'd immediately know Calvin did it. He can't even shoot someone and then try to hide the cause of death, because Golau would catch that. I guess someone could steal it from him, though..."
She scratched behind the jackalope's ears as she spoke, seemingly unperturbed.

Su-Ah, who has been here the whole time, dejectedly shrunk into her seat. "...I'm gonna have to hide my scissors and needles, too... right?" Once the two girls are back with their haul, they've brought back no less than three large zipper-bound binders, six tins, and two clear plastic cases that were crammed full of rows of cardboard. "That's, uh, what we decided to bring." Yves raised her voice more than usual to speak from behind the stack of tins it almost seemed she was trying to hide behind. "The binders are where I keep the cards I use for tournament play, when I'm not using them, because they could potentially get warped from being in their sleeves all of the time. The sleeves I use shouldn't, well, I don't think they- have that problem but it's better to be safe than sorry, right? But it's not like them getting damaged really matters anymore, now that we're here. Um, or they have staple cards and stuff that come in-and-out of being playable depending on the format, in them. I mostly keep my deck boxes in the tins, to keep them tidy and easier to carry... I tried to not grab the tins that have my empty sleeves and boxes in them but I didn't wanna take too long, uh, sifting through them and keep Yugi waiting so I didn't really check... And, the cases just have mostly cards that I don't use, in them, they're like, my collection, I guess. Though I guess this would all be my collection, but, um, they're the ones I don't ever put in sleeves, and stuff. I- they're sorted alphabetically, by the archetype name, and I made the little dividers between each set out of flash cards, myself..." "...yeah." The Haul distracts Su-Ah from her new responsability. "That's a LOT." She exclaims, in awe at the pile. "Do you use all of it at the same time in-game???"

Yves peeks out from behind the barricade of tins. "O-oh, no. A deck can only be between forty and, uh, sixty cards. And, between rounds, since the matches are typically a best-of-three to determine the overall winner, you can swap cards between your fifteen card Side Deck and the cards you currently have in your deck. And, um, monster cards that are summoned through one of the summoning mechanics are kept in the Extra Deck which is also fifteen cards..." She nudges the bottom of the tin stack in front of her with her hands, wobbling it around on the table slightly. "I just, like collecting. And, um, if I get lucky and get an expensive card I'm not gonna play, I can sell that and use the money to buy the cards I do wanna use..."

Yugi wakes back up. (Uh oh she fell asleep?)
"Wow!" she handles the binder very carefully, and whenever possible makes sure that the cards stay in Yves's hands.
"Okay! So which ones are the good ones? And are we able to play? How many people can play if we just have your cards? Should some club members stand by and take notes while a game is in progress? Can any deck go up against any deck? Would you allow people to touch the cards?" The girl looks with a pleading look at Yves.
"Su-ah, you're interested, right?"
She then turns to Korrigan, "S.O.S., shouldn't we leave out the weapons for the swordfighting club? Or at least leave them accessible for club activities? I was thinking the sword club should meet tomorrow morning, but it's up to Hawk as the mentor."

Su-Ah just smiled and nodded, eyeing the designs in the cards. "Are there like... famous known strategies like in chess? Since there are different types of cards..."
She also turns to the weapon conversation for a second. "We could make an inventory so we can all know which weapons exist and who takes what, too."

Yves just about goes cross-eyed trying to process all of Yugi's questions at once. "Well, um, good is really a... subjective term, even bad archetypes can have good cards in them, that are sometimes enough to overcome their shortcomings, and cards that are good against certain decks can be bad or unplayable against other strategies, um, we should be able to play, I have mats, and I can te- I can try to teach everyone who wants to learn the rules, but I'm not very good at explaining things, at least I don't think I am, oh, I have sleeves and boxes and, stuff, for playing, too, everyone should be able to play, I, um, this is only like... half, of my collection, or so, and, um, if I make decks for everyone then it can be, like, an even playing field, in terms of power-level and playability. Everyone else doesn't have to stand by and watch, we could run multiple games at a time, like a t-tournament, but it might be hard for me to judge for both games, not to say that I think everyone's impatient or anything just that it might get boring to wait while I was explaining a ruling- or, anyone else that would learn fast could probably judge as well, but it is kinda complicated- anyway, and any deck should be able to go against any deck, because of the luck factor of drawing random cards, but there are some decks that essentially counter others..." Ms. Motormouth takes a long, much-needed breath, finally stops for a second, and gives Yugi a meek nod. "I'm fine with everyone touching the cards. Go ahead..." Su-Ah just smiled and nodded, eyeing the designs in the cards. "Are there like... famous known strategies like in chess? Since there are different types of cards..." "Oh, yes, there are a lot of strategies that get well known, for, uh, good, or bad... reasons. They're named after the cards used in the combos, mostly, or the decks that use them... like, the 'Yata Lock'," she adds air quotes with her shaky hands, "that uses Yatagarasu's effect to keep your opponent from being able to draw any cards, while they have no cards on the field or in their hand, from back in the day... and there are lots of decks that see use, in competitive play or, just casually, that, um, get famous or infamous, for being generally really good or doing very... cheesy stuff."

"Why would anyone do that? The Yata thing. Sounds like all it does is make everyone else not have fun," Kameron asked, not entirely following the conversation but doing his best.

"I'm fine with everyone touching the cards. Go ahead..." "Awesome!" Yugi cheers excitedly. "Okay so should I help you make people's decks? I am good at organizing things!" She tries hard to hide tears in her eyes as Nico takes one of the cards she was eyeing. Maybe this whole day has her feeling a little overly emotional.

Yves does her best to manically divide her attention between everyone that's suddenly invested in her and her silly children's card game.
She looks to Kameron, "Well, some people will do anything it takes to win, I guess. And, um, sometimes it just feels n-nice, to execute a combo, and pulling off the lock requires a lot of set-up, so, that was probably a factor in it, assumedly. The satisfaction of pulling off the combo, I mean."
Then she turns to Nico and offers the boy a tiny smile, "Isn't it? The art is one of my favorite parts too. Lots of cool dragons and robots and stuff, but those aren't my most favorite, all the time..."
And finally she turns to Yugi, still obviously flustered. "That, would- I would really appreciate the help. You could help me sleeve all the cards once I pick them out for everyone. In the club. Um, everyone interested playing, in the club. If you wanna, that is."

While he had seemingly been uninterested in the goings-on around him, Hawk bolted upright, his eyes widening. Excitement shone in his eyes, like he had just put something together, and he bounded over--
To pick up one of the binders and flip through it.
"I forgot that this used to be the big deal back in the day," he explained heartily, flipping through with all the restrained excitement of a teenager. "I never did quite understand how to 'keep up', as you kids would put it."

Mikoto eyes a wide variety of cards within their viewing range, suspiciously at some, and with awe at others. "I believe younger children back at home would toy with these. What do you do with them? Do these monsters battle like the beetles I'd battle with while I was young?"
"Ah, to think, the bloody battlefield will be converted into a simple format such as this. It's like compressing a cactus into a singular pin- and stabbing it directly through the heart of a child's innocence. Yet, we all need to face reality one day..."

Yves chuckles at Mikoto's anecdote of playing with beetles when they were younger, and nods. "Um, they do! Yes. The main way to win a duel is by attacking your opponent directly, but you can't do that when they have a monster summoned. So you have to attack their monsters first. Or, well, some monsters and effects circumvent that, but that's the general rule."

Yugi helps Yves make some decks for everyone, going through the various cards and generally following Yves’s command. She listens and nods along to the rules.
“Alright Yves, I’m gonna have a lot of fun, okay? And then hopefully some people see it and think they can play too! Let me know if you have a recommendation, but I’ll just use this deck.”
“Hawk, are you interested in playing? I wasn’t sure if you wanted to be a part of the club…” Yugi trails off.

Hawk's brows raised in mild shock. "Recreation is just as important as training, and even in a card game, you can train yourself in strategy. "Though that reminds me. About the armory, I would like to examine the weaponry closer, along with Ms. Koizumi. I'm interested in seeing what, if any of it, is usable by human hands, and what we can use for scraps."
