[#spoiler=Bobbi]After the events of the Eternity Game, Bobbi left her apartment in Chicago to live with Tabitha.
During this time, the two of them received an anonymous donation from a "friend", that allowed them some flexibility with their finances.
Bobbi kept up her modelling, but her page gained more popularity posting travel videos with Tabitha.
Bobbi went back to school and learned graphic design.
She met many friends at her local badminton club.
With her recent marriage, her life is looking very exciting.
[#spoiler=Datakot]Dahlia quit writing for a couple years to her editor's chagrin.
With her time off, she focused on trying to brighten up her life. This became possible in part to friends. Calls from Guille, Bobbi, and Marvin are pretty regular. Visits to the therapist are seldom but helpful.
She finally began to get over her general sadness about Jeremy and feel more assured of herself.
When she finally got back to writing on her own time she scrapped her original manuscript for her book, again much to the editor's dismay.
There was a fan outcry during this time, mostly people complaining that she was taking forever and would never ever finish ala George R. R. Martin. She laughs about this with her over-the-phone friends and the folks at euchre club.
She asked her editor to tweet out a picture with a trash can filled with empty pipe tobacco cans with the caption "I am in perfect health," which ended up going viral.
Eventually, the book came out, and despite it's controversial nature (it's very sunny and pleasant overall), there's a lot of praise for its optimism and creativity combined with the suspense it had.
Dahlia still has an itch to write but hasn't decided what to do with it yet.
She realized recently that chewing her pipe is actually as good as smoking for her, so maybe she will quit.
[#spoiler=Marvin]Marvin continued to be halpful to Tabitha, looking after the cats whenever Marvin and Bobbi go to travel.
It was finally a job that he could do and do well. He earned plenty of money from Tabitha who was always very satisfied with how Shoe and Dusty were when they got back.
Eventually, Tabitha and Bobbi want to move away, but knowing that Marvin would be rather alone, decide to negotiate with his brother to move him across town so he can stay within a short distance to house-sit.
Marvin never reconnected with his mother, since that mother already had a boy named Marvin, and he made the humble choice not to intrude back on her life and give her additional grief.
He provided good care for Sunbeam who continued a long life.
The two of them took several trips to the local zoo and enjoyed their time there.
Tabitha and Marvin are lifelong friends.
[#spoiler=Guille and Mel]A life in a true partnership with someone else was nothing like Mel imagined it.
Guille and Mel travelled the globe for several years, always looking for people to help.
It was a steep adjustment for Melanie, who maybe understood that Guille was a good person doing good things, but struggled to exactly understand why he would do so much for other people.
On one hand, Guille wanted her to understand more about the power of kindness, but on the other hand he didn't want to make her the focus of attention too much and reactivate some of her narcissistic tendencies. He understood that if he did his best for others simply because it was what he wanted to do, it would make a powerful impression along the way regardless.
Mel really enjoyed her life during this time. It was different, interesting. Sure, at first talking with Guille was hard, but he was so charismatic and flawless that she became transparent with him. This helped the two of them set boundaries and build a very beautiful and healthy relationship for one forged in such a dire way.
Eventually, Mel happily helped Guillermo with his many projects. For her, it was not for the happiness of others but rather the happiness of the single person who filled her life with joy.
Sometimes the old Mel came out, but even when she did, she wasn't so bad.
Things stayed platonic between the two of them. Mel awkwardly explained to potential love interests that she travelled the world with someone as attractive as Guillermo, and she was somewhat transparently attracted to him. This definitely made things challenging for Mel, even though plenty of people were still willing to date her anyway.
Over a long break from their work, shockingly, the two of them ended up finding love at the same time. At that point, Mel had matured so much that she helped Guille with his relationship as much as he helped her. They live apart right now, but they talk every day.
[#spoiler=Ganglion]Of course, Melanie wouldn't have been able to change at all without a little help from the Morphogenetic Field.
Yep, Ganglion was there, helping her on her journey. They always wanted everyone to be as happy as possible and Melanie in some sense deserved the best she could give.
Ganglion was always there to help the bad days on her global trip not seem so bad, and to emphasize the great days.
They helped her live a long and fulfilling life, but also understand the gravity of what she had done to others. Eternity wasn't so long for Ganglion, but it certainly had hurt the players in the game!
Satisfied with seeing Guille and Mel become friends, the spirit went on to visit the others and help them as well. Always in little ways here and there. They attended the wedding as a bluebird and was caught in the background of several pictures.
Ganglion always returned back to Button and Ren though, experiencing life through Button's eyes to great fulfillment. It was a simple joy.
[#spoiler=Ren]Ren threw out his cork board of conspiracy theories.
Instead, he typed out many essays on his experiences in the Eternity Game.
He also got a haircut and cleaned up his room.
Unfortunately, his contributions to science had some difficulty to publish, so eventually he took his notes and visited his favorite author with an idea: Dahlia Taylor Kotter.
Dahlia was still not quite done with her final book, but she is much more efficient as an editor than an author, and so she made quick work helping Ren with composing his essays and memories into one big coherent epic.
Ren regularly came by and worked on his book series with her collaborations. Eventually the first book got published to moderate acclaim and interest. Ren became a famous name in time travel science fiction epics pretty quickly. He hoped that the truth shown in his works would reach some minds even if he couldn't exactly show the Morphogenetic Field to everyone.
Ren also traveled to visit as many people as he could. He saw Guille and Melanie on their journeys. He and Button stopped by Tabitha and Bobbi many times. He saw Nancy in Ohio. He even saw the elusive Grayson. He saw all of them multiple times.
The one person who of course eluded him was Sophilia. But eventually he did hear from her.
[#spoiler=Sophilia]Sophilia was glad to be separated from her abusive Grandmother.
She did however spend a long time at Guillermo and Garo's graves. In some way they had both been good to her. It was hard to view both of them the same way, but she still had a lot of love for them.
Life on the island thankfully turned around for her after Grandma's arrest. Mom was as supportive and apologetic as she could be. Her father was also very proactive in making up for his mother's wrongdoing.
When Sophilia turned 15, she started going to public school. When she did, she learned all sorts of things about how the world had changed. Living 40 years in the future, a lot of the world had flooded, and many countries had completely changed. Maine was a warm and balmy place almost all year round. Even so, humanity had persevered, and her education and time spent on the mainland was fun and interesting. It was a long journey to school everyday, but it was fulfilling for her to go.
She had a difficult time in school and with meeting new friends, but she had a lot of life experience and wisdom from the eternity game that helped her survive. Eventually, she found her niche and started practicing with the trivia team. Despite being somewhat behind in her education, she knew a lot about old culture and weird physics things.
After she re-visited the Eternity Game and everyone was rescued, she destroyed the computer database that housed the game. It hurt her too much to think of the suffering encased within and wanted to move along as fast as possible.
One day, when Sophilia was around 18, she went with her parents and found Ren, who was alive but in ailing health. He, of course, remembered her. His dog Lion also seemed to remember her. The two of them felt happiness reconnecting over the game.
At the end of her visit, Ren gave her a strange rock, "I think Button wanted you to have this. I kept it with me my whole life. I think we'll get to talk again in another time."
Sophilia left her visit happy and looked into what the rock could do. It was something called Blinking Slate, and it seemed it could communicate across timelines. It was only a matter of time before she found out who she could talk to...
[#spoiler=Nancy]Every week, Nancy would hear from her daughter. One email with pictures and so much love packed into it.
She would share stories at work with Janan and her other friends about how successful her daughter and soon-to-be daughter-in-law are.
Of course, all of the people at Nancy's work knew how incredible her story was. Most people knew and believed all the stuff about the Morphogenetic Field that Nancy had told them.
It was great to have good friends, and they helped her type emails back to Tabitha when they hung out after work.
Her friends also encouraged and helped her stay away from alcohol, which raised Nancy's pride in herself as well.
Eventually, Nancy retired and was lauded by all the people around her. She was immensely loved, even if she wasn't the most outspoken or gregarious person. Her story, her strength of character, and her humility spoke for themselves.
Outside of work, she kept up with everyone she could from the Eternity Game.
Of course, her biggest dream of being at Tabitha's wedding came true.
It wasn't easy to get there. Not for her. It wasn't in her wheelhouse to think like that. She really appreciated how far she had come. These days, the emails were easy for her, and she didn't even need that much help from friends.
When she visited her daughter and Bobbi in person, she was so overwhelmed with joy. Life couldn't get better.
[#spoiler=Grayson]After the Eternity Game, David went over to Grayson and awkwardly told him that he wanted to see him again.
The two of them exchanged their numbers but went their separate ways.
Months later, Grayson, sitting in his apartment, still reeling from the experience, got a text from David, asking to get lunch.
The two of them met up, discussing the game and getting involved with it. How they had both been used as toys by Melanie.
At the end of the lunch, they had started rambling about other topics to one another. They forgot about the Eternity Game and just spoke with one another about regular things. As they ran out of time, they decided to meet up again.
And so, the unlikely relationship between the two began. They both had different interests, but at the back of their mind they wanted the other to like them and would talk about whatever the other person wanted to.
Soon, they weren't just getting lunch. They went to movies, they went to each other's house, and they got dinner.
Eventually, David asked Grayson to start dating. He admitted that during the game he had felt something during their kiss and wanted to explore things further. Grayson was a little surprised but admitted to feeling the same way. He had been cautious to say anything since he wasn't sure if that was David or Guillermo.
In that moment, it was easy to agree to date. The two of them both wanted something with each other. The only difficult part was how they were going to go about it. They both had struggles with their direction in life, and while it was easy to vent to one another, neither had the tools to deal with their problems. David wanted to act but was still very small-time and had to wait tables on the side. Grayson had almost an opposite problem where he had a ton of money and no interest in anything in particular.
Things were rocky for a while as they both had trust issues, but over time they understood a lot about each other and complemented one another well. They took out a loft together where they both worked on art projects. Grayson made cool VR art and David would make independent films.
To this day they bring one another joy.
